Waste Removal
Residential Trash Collection is contracted through Republic Services of Aniseed (231.723.4850 for PM Residents). At this time, the Township does not provide waste collection services for businesses.
Monday is collection day for trash and recycling (see specific recycling info below). Tuesday is collection day for yard waste (April thru November). Please note that different trucks will be used for the various collections. If either one falls on a Federal Holiday, it will be picked up the following day. Republic observes the following major holidays and will be closed:

Each household is allowed three 30-gallon bags per week. Additional tags are also available at the township.
Extra Bag Tags @ $2.00 for each bag over the 3 bag limit
96 Gallon Refuse Container $36/annually.

Bulky Items Two bulky items or up to 10 bags will be collected each month per single family home during the first collection day of each month (this does not include Freon appliances). The replaces Spring Clean Up.
Bulky Item Tags @ $5.00 each (not to exceed 3’ x 4’).

Appliance without Freon @ $15.00 each. This includes: stove, dryer, furnace, water heater, washer, dishwasher, humidifier, and microwave.
Appliance with Freon @ $40.00.This includes: refrigerator, air conditioner, freezer, and dehumidifier.
Yard Waste Cart $65/annually. These containers can be ordered at the town hall, and yearly stickers are available there each spring. Yard waste is picked up at the curb on Tuesdays. This service runs from April thru November, weather permitting.
Recycling Carts are available for your use, and will be collected monthly on the second full week of each month on the same day as your garbage service, effective August 2022. For more information on this service and to sign up to receive a recycling cart, complete the required form.

Christmas Trees Another annual bonus for Township residents is the disposal of Christmas trees. During the month of January Republic will collect discarded trees from residences. Just set the tree out with your regular trash on Mondays, and keep the tree free of heavy snow build up.
