The park runs along the southern bank of the South Fork of the Pere Marquette River, and includes approximately 425 feet of river frontage. Fishermen (over 7500 of them annually!) love the river access. There is also a small boat launch facility. Park improvements include updated boat ramps, a boardwalk along the riverbank, a pavilion, rest rooms, and improved parking facilities.
The shelter building has LOTS of picnic tables, suitable for good-sized groups. Additional picnic tables and benches are available around the grounds.
The 2008 season saw the addition of some new playground equipment at Suttons Landing. The first was a swingset; spring jumpers, a "digger", and a parent's bench were added in 2009.
Development of this facility was partially funded by a grant from the Great Lakes Fisheries Trust. The park is open all year. The shelter building can be reserved by calling Bobbie at the Township offices, 231/845-1277. There is a $40 reservation fee for any Township shelter building. There is no charge to use the shelter building, but free will offerings are welcomed.
