Meet the Supervisor

 New Supervisor: Jim McInnis

The first new person to take the reins of the Township in over 16 years, Jim McInnis is now our chief elected official. As Supervisor, responsibilities are very similar to that of a city mayor/city manager, and involve interaction with all the aspects of Township government as well as representing our Township within other community groups.

Jim was raised here in Mason County, graduating from West Shore Community College.  He also attended the University of Central Florida, and graduated from Regent's College of New York City.  His background includes 30 years in Law Enforcement, during which he was solicited to attend the FBI National Academy.  He's served in the U.S. Army, owned a small construction business, and was elected as a Trustee to our Township Board in 2008.  He was appointed Supervisor upon retirement of Gene Jorissen in June of 2011.

While in Florida, Jim helped to found a local chapter of Awana, as well as the Police Athletic League.  He has always been active in community projects, and currently belongs to Optimists International.  Jim and his family are active in their church and its activities as well.  As Supervisor, Jim serves on the Board of the Western Mason County Fire District Authority, the Ludington Mass Transit Authority Board, the Mason County Growth Alliance, the Mason County DPW, and many Township Board committees.

Day-to-day, Jim requests and receives bids for Township merchandise and services, monitors zoning and land divisions, and acts on complaints and violations of local ordinances. He supervises roads, refuse pick-up, and utilities -- as well as many of the various departments within the Township. The Supervisor presides at meetings of the Township Board and is the Township’s chief officer.

Jim can help with a problem or question in almost any department, and he's happy to do so.  Please contact him with comments about our website, or to request additional features you would like to see on the website.  Contact Jim at 231/845-1277 or by e-mail at Jim@pmtwp.org.

...and Assistant

Judy Cools is Jim's Administrative Assistant.  She assists Jim with the tasks above, and also deals with many other things as well.  In addition to being our Webmanager, Board of Review secretary, and caretaker of a thousand little details that keep the office operating more efficiently, Judy takes care of visitors to the Townhall and often answers the phones and directs calls.    Photo: Judy Cools: GIS Administrator, Webmanager, and Administrative Support

Judy is also at the center of our Geographical Information System ("GIS").  Working with other Township departments, the GIS uses maps within the Township to display the water/sewer lines, property boundaries, zoning, and more.  These are valuable not only to our staff, but to outside contractors, county departments, and prospective investors.

You can reach Judy at 231/845-1277 or by e-mail at Judy@pmtwp.org.

Many more dedicated people work together to make up your Township staff. You’ll find them on our other web pages, so keep exploring!
