Effective January 1, 2012 (seen in your April bill), water rates for Pere Marquette Township water customers are as follows:  

The rate is $3.30/per 100 cubic feet.

100 (cubic feet) = 748.051948 US gallons

You can buy about 2-and-a-half gallons of water in Pere Marquette for about a penny.  Compare that to bottled waters at $1.79 for 20 ounces ($11.46 per gallon), or even Spring water or Distilled water at $.89 per gallon.  That same $.89 would get you more than 223 gallons of Pere Marquette water instead of only one from the grocery store.
